Protect Vital Services

Strong public services like snow clearing, lifeguards and community centres are vital to the health of our community. These don’t just happen, We fight for them together.

• Snow clearing has been contracted out to private and out-of-province companies who prioritize profits over services.
• Winnipeg is experiencing shortage of lifeguards. This means fewer aquatic classes and reduced operation of wading pools – both important to our communities. We need to increase training opportunities so we can provide vital life saving services.
• Libraries are not open when we need them. Increased evening and weekend service would mean families can access library services such as homework help and job search support, and all the benefits we value at our public libraries.

We need to bring accountability back for vital services.
