CLC Urges Involvement in United Way

The labour movement has long been a strong supporter of the United Way. As that organization moves from a charity oriented approach toward a locally driven, community building approach, the partnership between labour and the United Way is certain to deepen and the potential of the joint work will grow.

Canadian Labour Congress President Ken Georgetti is encouraging people in the labour movement to participate in the 2008 United Way campaign, contributing to the effort both as a donor and a volunteer. The funds gathered during the campaign will stay in the local community and used to support vital services for working people and their families, while strengthening the community.

Information about how you can contribute by participating as a volunteer for the United Way can be found on the United Way of Winnipeg Web site. Numerous options for how you can help are available.
