The Winnipeg Labour Council once again hosted its annual MayWorks family picnic on Saturday, May 30, at Freight House Park, at Ross and Isabel. In a spring that has experienced a lot of cool, wet weather, it turned out to be a great day for a picnic, with about 150 people coming out to join in the fun.
All children who came to the picnic received hot dogs, balloons, inflatable rides and a entry in a free bike raffle. The winners of the free bike raffle were Keith Dumas Jr., Shakira Brass, and Jessie Fontaine (winners shown below).
The Winnipeg Labour Council would like to thank all the affiliated unions for their donations.
Without their support, we couldn't put on this worthwhile event.
An especially big thank-you to all our volunteers to help make the day a success - Donna, Laurie, Kim, Sam, Jade, Bob, Shannon, Terry, Mike, Debbie, Katie, Dave, Sally, Brian, Jo-Anne, Lee, Matthew, Cathy, Marjory, Dale, Cody, Danalee, Glenn and Judy Wasylycia-leis (centre, brown jacket in photo on left), the Member of Parliament for Winnipeg North.
